Common failures of Scraper Conveyor include:
Chain breakage accidents. This can be caused by chain quality not meeting the requirements, cotter pins wearing out or falling off, over-tightening or over-loosening of the chain, severe wear of the chain, and loss of chain connecting bolts.
Chain runout. This is usually due to poor installation quality, such as the whole Scraper Conveyor is not too straight.
Scraper Conveyor chain failure. This includes scraper chain breakage, wear, jamming, etc.
Motor failure. This may be manifested as heat generation, abnormal noise, abnormal startup, etc. Heat causes include poor heat dissipation, overload operation, bearing damage, coaxiality does not match, vibration, etc.; abnormal sound may be due to single-phase operation, bearing damage, overload, etc.; start abnormalities may be due to overload, running parts jammed, supply voltage is insufficient, transformer capacity is insufficient, improperly set the delay between the motor and other reasons.
Reducer failure. It may be manifested as oil leakage, high oil temperature, gear damage and so on. Oil leakage may be due to sealing ring or gasket damage, oil plug loose; high oil temperature may be due to the high content of foreign matter in the oil, high water content, insufficient oil, overloaded operation, gear damage and other reasons.
Fluid coupler failure. It may be manifested as slipping, heating, oil leakage or oil spraying. Slipping may be due to lack of oil in the coupler, overloading, Scraper Conveyor chain being stuck; heating may be due to poor ventilation holes, overloading, and frequent startup; oil leakage or oil spraying may be due to damage to seals or gaskets, melting of fusible protection plugs.
Scraper Conveyor belt failure. Including deflection, skidding and so on. Deflection may be due to improper tension, uneven joints, incorrect installation of rollers; skidding may be due to excessive tension, foreign objects, roller damage.
The safety pin is broken. This may be caused by over-tightening or over-loosening of the chain, severe chain wear.
These faults may cause Scraper Conveyor to fail to operate normally, affecting productivity and safety. Therefore, regular maintenance and inspection are very important.
